Gregoire Goël was born 1978 in Lausanne.
He quickly formed an interest in cooking experiences. Apprenticeship as a pastry baker, making miles of twisted flutes, spending hours transforming the colors of the pastry. Then trips to Asia and the African continent, Morocco and its scents, Africa and its thousand colors added to his culinary experiences. Running a bakery and learning more about different breads. Independence called.
Inspiration for sugar craft came from image that had fascinated him in a book from the school library: a swan in artistic sugar. Instantly, he falls in love with sugar work and decides this is for him and since then no looking back. He presents his works in prestigious international competitions.
In 2017 his work was recognized at the Swiss Cake Festival in Zurich. He won the public prize at the 2017 Lyon Cake Show and ended the year with an ovation at Cake International Birmingham where he was awarded the prestigious “Best in Show”.
In 2018 he received two gold medals at Sugar Paris in the “flowers” and “decorative pieces” categories. He won an award in Cake International Birmingham in a “steam-punk” collaboration.
It was also in 2018, that he established his workshop in Perroy on the Lake Geneva coast. Discreet, secret and introverted when working on his personal work, his eyes open to others when he becomes a trainer.
“The work of sugar fascinates me, the only limit is my imagination”.
